Institut français du Cameroun

The Institut français du Cameroun (IFC) plays an essential role as an operator of France’s external cultural action in Cameroon. With two sites, one in Douala and the other in Yaoundé, IFC is both a platform for disseminating and promoting French and Cameroonian culture, ideas, values and knowledge, an instrument for promoting French language, a tool for Franco-Cameroonian cooperation. The IFC seeks to showcase Cameroonian artistic and cultural forms, and also supports artists and cultural mobility. Finally, it takes part in the process of structuring and promoting the professional arts and culture sectors in Cameroon. Its mission is to support the development of artists’ careers through access to knowledge and debate through a media library, French courses and certifications, support and guidance for students wishing to study at university in France.
