For more than 25 years, the Croatian Association of Fine Artists x Cité internationale des arts programme has given around a hundred Croatian artists the opportunity to come and spend 3 months in residence. Four artists are selected each year to come and develop their creative or research projects.

The Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) is a politically neutral, non-governmental, non-profit union of professionals. Its membership consists exclusively of visual artists of all generations. The basic aims of the association are to support and encourage contemporary visual expression, to improve and protect the freedom of visual expression, to organise exhibitions and to participate in the making of the laws and rules regulating visual arts production and the social rights of the artists.
