The programme
The Institut français x Cité internationale des arts multidisciplinary residency programme is aimed at artists and cultural professionals (from all disciplines and from all over the world) wanting to work on a creative research project in Paris for a period of 3, 6, or 9 months. Candidates must not have resided in France for at least 5 years. Thanks to this programme, more than 70 laureates are hosted at the Cité internationale des arts every year.

The Institut français supports French culture internationally. It helps to promote the French language, the circulation of works and ideas and the mobility of artists throughout the world. It works to promote cultural diversity and to actively contribute to the hosting of foreign performers in France. As a key stakeholder in cultural policy outside France, the Institut français is entrusted with a public service mission and financed by state subsidy.
