Maison des Écritures de La Rochelle

Located in the Frank Delmas park, the Maison des Écritures is a project initiated by the city of La Rochelle, born from a strong political will to strengthen the place of literature in the region and to position writing at the crossroads of all creative disciplines: theater, literature, dance, cinema, audiovisual, comics, digital arts, etc.

As part of a participatory approach, it hosts writing workshops and residencies, and supports the practice of writing through workshops, initiations, literacy programs, mediation, author encounters, and the development of access to books and reading.

A place for residencies, research, encounters between artists and confrontation between different visions of the world, since 2018 the Maison des Écritures has conducted programming “outside the walls” and is now located at the Villa Fort Louis in La Rochelle’s Parc Frank Delmas, facing the ocean.
