Every year, 4 young graduates from the National Art School in Sydney are welcomed to the Cité for 3-month residencies. Members of the school’s teaching staff may also benefit from a residency as part of a research project.

The National Art School (NAS) is an art school with origins that can be traced back to 1843. Situated within the historic walls of the old Darlinghurst Gaol in Sydney, Australia, the school has a rich tradition of artistic practice and has produced generations of many of the country’s best-known artists. The inner-city campus offers a select number of full-time programmes as well as a comprehensive range of part-time and intensive short courses.
