As part of the Society of Slovak artists x Cité internationale des arts programme, 6 to 8 visual artists from Slovakia are hosted in residence at the Cité for a period of 2 months.

The Society of Slovak Artists was founded by a group of artists led by Vladimír Kompánek in 1993 and is one of the three major professional associations of artists in Slovakia. It supports creators at various levels, organises exhibitions and serves as a publishing platform. The Society of Slovak Artists is represented on the Arts Council and is a member of ICOM. It also initiated the creation of the Arts Council Prizes and the Society Prize.
