Artists in residence

Each year, the Cité internationale des arts welcomes more than 1,000 artists from around the world, offering them a space for creation, research, and exchange in Paris, in the Marais and Montmartre districts. Open to all artistic disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, film, design and architecture, performing arts, and curating—it enables artists to develop their projects in an environment that fosters experimentation and meaningful connections.

Wendie Zahibo is a multi-disciplinary artist from the Ivory Coast and the Central African Republic. She lives in Guadeloupe and works in France and abroad. Born in a multi-ethnic family environment, she draws her inspiration from African, Caribbean, and the contemporary African diaspora to explore Caribbean identity and its resonance within a territory: the Black Atlantic.

In 2022, she began her long-term project masonn, focusing on vernacular housing vernacular habitat and mystical realism in the Black Atlantic. Transmedia and transnational, the masonn project invokes the mediums of photography, sound and installation
