Institut français Indonésie (IFI), along with the Cité internationale des arts, launched a research-creation residency programme aimed at Indonesian artists from all disciplines who are currently living and working in Indonesia. The goal of this programme is to encourage and facilitate the mobility of artists based in Indonesia, while expanding their professional and artistic networks.

The partners are committed to supporting each laureate’s project by offering privileged guidance, networking opportunities, and a fully-funded three-month residency in Paris.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be an Indonesian national, work and live in Indonesia for at least seven years
  • Have been developing a professional artistic practice for at least 5 years
  • Be a visual artist, a musician, a dancer or a choreographer, a playwright, a curator, an architect or a designer

Institut français d’Indonésie

Institut français Indonésie (IFI) is a service of the French Embassy in Indonesia and Timor Leste, with branches in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. It aims to strengthen ties between Indonesia, Timor Leste and France in scientific, academic, linguistic, and cultural fields. In addition to offering French language courses at all levels, IFI supports students, teachers, researchers, and artists in pursuing opportunities in France, in collaboration with the national agency Campus France.

Alongside its educational and scientific initiatives, IFI is actively involved in cultural and artistic promotion. It organizes numerous weekly events across its network, ranging from debates, literature, live performances, gastronomy, cinema, and architecture, among others. IFI also supports the development of cultural and creative industries by facilitating support programmes and professional networking opportunities.
